BMR Calculation Formulas

This calculator can use two different formulas to estimate your BMR. The Mifflin-St Jeor equation is the default and recommended for most people.

Mifflin-St Jeor Equation

For Men: BMR = 10 × weight (kg) + 6.25 × height (cm) - 5 × age + 5

For Women: BMR = 10 × weight (kg) + 6.25 × height (cm) - 5 × age - 161

Revised Harris-Benedict Equation

For Men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 × weight (kg)) + (4.799 × height (cm)) - (5.677 × age)

For Women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 × weight (kg)) + (3.098 × height (cm)) - (4.330 × age)
