Density Comparison Chart
Density in lb/ft³ — higher density = heavier sheet
How to Use & Formula
Rectangular Sheet:
Weight = Length × Width × Thickness × Density × Quantity
Circular Sheet:
Weight = π × (Diameter / 2)² × Thickness × Density × Quantity
Where density is the specific gravity of the rubber material in lb/ft³ (or equivalent metric unit).
- Select the sheet shape — rectangular or circular.
- Choose the rubber type from the dropdown (density auto-fills), or select "Custom" to enter your own density.
- Pick your preferred measurement unit (inches, feet, mm, cm, or meters).
- Enter the sheet dimensions — length & width (rectangular) or diameter (circular), plus thickness.
- Set the quantity if calculating for multiple sheets.
- Choose your desired weight unit for the result.
- The result appears automatically as you type — no button needed!
- Use actual measured dimensions rather than nominal sizes for best accuracy.
- Rubber density can vary by manufacturer — check the material data sheet when possible.
- The calculator assumes uniform thickness across the sheet.
- For reinforced or composite rubber sheets, the density may differ from standard values.
